Fire hose is the best choice for use with high-pressure pumps and large washdown nozzles with integral shutoffs. Internally expanded couplings provide maximum strength where the coupling and hose are joined.
When using fire hose with a nozzle for general cleanup, the rubber cover provides increased resistance to scuffing and cutting due to rough surfaces or rubbing against sharp metal objects in the back of a truck. Rubber-covered fire hose costs more, but the extra cost is justified if fabric-covered fire hose is not durable enough for your application.
