| I received several gauges and noticed that the needles are not pointing directly to "0". Does this mean that the gauges won’t read the same? |
|
| No. Many gauge manufacturers, including some of our suppliers, no longer use pegs for the needle to rest against at the "0" position. Some manufacturers actually paint a wide "0" range mark on the faceplate. Gauges should be selected so that actual operating pressure is 50% of maximum gauge pressure or somewhere in the middle third of the gauge scale. Readings just above the "0" mark are going to be questionable from the standpoint of accuracy. |
