I received several gauges and noticed that the needles are not pointing directly to "0". Does this mean that the gauges won’t read the same?
No. Many gauge manufacturers, including some of our suppliers, no longer use pegs for the needle to rest against at the "0" position. Some manufacturers actually paint a wide "0" range mark on the faceplate. Gauges should be selected so that actual operating pressure is 50% of maximum gauge pressure or somewhere in the middle third of the gauge scale. Readings just above the "0" mark are going to be questionable from the standpoint of accuracy.
