CalciQuest is a phosphate that offers many benefits. It reduces lead leaching and acts as a corrosion inhibitor by forming a microscopic film on all metal surfaces. It sequesters iron, calcium, and manganese to prevent taste and stain problems. Unlike powders, CalciQuest is an easy-to-use clear liquid which does not require any mixing or dilutions.
Calculating feedrates for previously untreated systems: Base feedrate: 3/4 gallon CalciQuest for each million gallons of water. Additional 1/4 CalciQuest for each 0.3 ppm iron in each million gal water. Additional 1/4 CalciQuest for each 60 ppm of hardness in each million gal water. Total equals total feedrate for CalciQuest.
For comparison to other brands, one gallon of CalciQuest equals: one gallon of AquaMag; one gallon of Calgon C-5; 4.5 pounds of Aquadene; or 11.25 pounds of Sodium Hexametaphosphate.
