Rangeability, low cost, debris passage and the ability to measure low flow rates with a useful head are the primary advantages of the Trapezoidal flume. The trapezoidal flume is essentially a "V" shape that converges and diverges over a given length. The straight through, flat bottom design allows the Trapezoidal flume to pass sedimentation and large debris with ease. Because of this, the large sizes of Trapezoidal flumes are commonly used in storm water or stream gauging applications.
Trapezoidal flumes have pipe stub adapters on both the inlet and outlet—specify size of adapters when ordering.
