The second most commonly used flume in water and wastewater applications is the Palmer-Bowlus. While precision, flow range and usable head are somewhat lower for Palmer-Bowlus flumes than Parshall flumes, low cost and ease of installation in existing conduit often make the Palmer-Bowlus the best choice for many applications.
Palmer-Bowlus flumes have pipe stub adapters on both the inlet and outlet—specify size of adapters when ordering.
