Use dry hydrants where you must access water from a pond or lake for fire service or as a raw water supply for other uses. We offer strainers, support arms, hydrant head assemblies and caps; supply straight lengths of 6" pipe and elbows locally. Connections are NST fire hose thread; other thread sizes are available on special order. Choose from male or female NST threaded outlets depending on the configuration of the hose ends connecting the dry hydrant to your pump or fire truck.
Dry hydrant male adapter metal parts are made of hard-coated aluminum to resist corrosion and abrasion. They come attached to a 45 or 90° Sch 40 PVC 6" socket elbow for permanent mounting to your PVC pipe. The 40" long strainer is made of 6" dia. PVC pipe and contains 1,140 3/8" Dia holes. The outboard end has brass clappered end cap for easy back flushing.
The all-bronze strainer support arm mounts to a 1" O.D. pipe or rod (customer supplied) that is driven in the bed of the lake and cut off to a desired height. The support arm keeps the strainer above the dirt and debris. Because this is a nice setup for small water systems that draw from lakes, we also offer several sizes of Sch 40 PVC adapters so you can use the 6" strainer with 4", 3" and 2" suction lines.
To use the strainer and mounting bracket assembly with smaller pipe water system service, we offer Sch 40 threaded and socket adapters to mount the strainer to 2", 3" and 4" suction line piping.
