The AVFM 5.0 area velocity flowmeter measures, totalizes, records and transmits flow in partially filled pipes or irregularly-shaped channels without the need for flumes or weirs. This flowmeter calculates the area of the flowing liquid from level and channel dimensions and combines it with a velocity measurement to achieve accurate flow measurement.
Five push-button programming and menu selection makes setting up the AVFM 5.0 easy. Calibration parameters are password protected. You can program output relays for flow proportional pulse (use with a sampler), flow and/or level alarm. Three user-defined 4-20 mA outputs can output any combination of flow, level, and/or velocity. This flowmeter also features a large 2-line backlit LCD display, two programmable 5-amp SPDT relays for alarm or proportional control, and a rugged NEMA 4X (IP66) enclosure.
The submerged sensor measures both level and velocity in the channel or pipe. It is resistant to fouling and corrosion and is also tolerant of turbulence and high approach velocity. Installation is simple—sensor clips into SS mounting bracket that is fastened to your pipe or channel floor.
Model with datalogger stores up to two million data points at programmable intervals. Data points are time and date stamped. Use the RS-232 output to download files to your PC for analysis and printing. Formatted flow reports include total, average, minimum, maximum and times of occurrence. You can also save log files as text files and import them into database or spreadsheet programs like Microsoft® Excel®
Includes: flowmeter/display unit, level/velocity sensor with 25 ft of cable, SS sensor mounting bracket and operating manual. Datalogging model includes Windows®-based software and serial cable. For installations requiring more than 25 ft of sensor cable, order extra sensor cable and a junction box separately.
