Complex pump control from a single long-lasting float
How It Works
Kari floats consist of a free-floating polypropylene body with up to four heavy-duty miniature mechanical switches cast inside at different predetermined angles. The simplest Kari floats work like traditional floats, switching on and off at one level point. This is sufficient for alarm point indicators, but is not suited to automatic control of liquid levels.
More advanced Kari floats contain two internal switches. They control liquid levels by providing separate on and off points using a hysteresis effect (switching differential or deadband). This allows the pump to be switched on at one level and off at another. You can easily adjust the hysteresis of these points using the included cable weight—simply move the weight closer to the float to narrow the switching points. The most advanced Kari floats have three or four switches, and can control high and low alarms along with pump up/pump down functions in duplex pump systems.
Kari Float Switches
•
Up to 4 switching levels in a single switch
•
Compatible with a wide range of chemicals
•
Mercury free and lead free
Reduce the need for pump controllers and avoid those tangled messes of float wires in your lift stations! Durable Kari float switches handle up to four individual switching levels, letting you replace as many as four float switches with a single 4-point level Kari switch.
Kari switches feature built-in logic for applications from simple alarming to complex backup pump control—no need for a separate controller. Pump control models also feature hysteresis functionality to prevent unwanted frequent switching during pump down/pump up applications.
Choose from 25 purpose-built configurations featuring alarms, pump control or both. If you have unique application needs, please contact our Technical Specialists; models with other cable materials, lengths and temperature ratings are available.
Models with 2, 3 and 4 switch outputs include cable weight.
