Chevron Cylinder Oil W is an emulsifying cylinder oil. This type of oil provides excellent metal wetting, which assures an effective lubricant film will form on cylinder walls and pistons of steam pumps and engines. It also has the properties that are needed for lubricating the sliding worm gear surfaces in worm drive gears. The combination of oil emulsibility and metal wetting characteristics results in lower oil consumption rates and improved oil lubricity in the presence of wet steam or water.
