Gasket materials are furnished in one square yard (36" x 36") sheets. Five different materials are available to suit a wide range of applications. Red rubber offers good abrasion resistance. Black neoprene is chemically resistant to silicone oil and grease. EPR offers good weather resistance, but is not recommended for use with oils or grease. Vegetable fiber has good flexibility and oil resistance. Viton is the preferred material for maximum chemical resistance and high-temperature applications.
