Description

Product Details
  • Measures flow in partially filled pipes and channels without a flume or weir!
  • Use in clean or dirty water applications
  • Built-in 6.5-million point data logger with USB data transfer

The AVFM 6.1 area velocity flowmeter measures‚ totalizes‚ records and transmits flow in partially filled pipes or irregularly-shaped channels without the need for flumes or weirs. This flowmeter calculates the area of the flowing liquid from level and channel dimensions and combines it with a velocity measurement to achieve accurate flow measurement.

Five push-button programming and menu selection makes setting up the AVFM 6.1 easy. Calibration parameters are password protected. You can program output relays for flow proportional pulse (use with a sampler)‚ flow and/or level alarm. Three user-defined 4-20 mA outputs can output any combination of flow‚ level and/or velocity. This flowmeter also features a large 2-line backlit LCD display‚ two programmable 5A SPDT relays for alarm or proportional control‚ and a rugged NEMA 4X (IP66) enclosure.

The submerged sensor measures both level and velocity in the channel or pipe. It is resistant to fouling and corrosion and is also tolerant of turbulence and high approach velocity. Installation is simple—sensor clips into a stainless steel mounting bracket that is fastened to your pipe or channel floor. Optional mounting bands (sold separately) use expandable spring tension rather than bolting or screwing.

All models feature a built-in 6.5-million point data logger with Greyline PC software. Download logged data to your computer via a USB memory stick (sold separately). Formatted flow reports include total‚ average‚ minimum‚ maximum and times of occurrence. Transducer cable lengths are field-extendable up to 500'L on all meters (shielded cable and junction box required; sold separately).

Includes: flowmeter/display unit‚ level/velocity sensor with 25'L cable‚ stainless steel sensor mounting bracket and an operating manual.

Tech Specs:
  • Power: 9 to 32 VDC
  • Communication: USB for data log transfer by USB memory stick
  • Accuracy: ±1% of reading above 1.5 ft/sec; or 0.015 ft/sec below 1.5 ft/sec
  • Repeatability: ±0.5%
  • Fluid velocity range: ±0.1 to 20 ft/sec (min. concentration bubbles or solids 100 microns & 75 ppm)
  • Min/max head: 1" to 15'
  • Display: white backlit matrix; displays 5-digit flow rate with floating decimal and 14-digit totalizer
  • Analog output: three isolated 4-20 mA/0-5V (programmable for flow, velocity or level)
  • Operating temp: Display: 5 to 140°F (-20 to 60°C) / Sensor: 5 to 175°F (-15 to 80°C)
  • Sensor cable: 25-ft coaxial (extendable to 500 ft)
