Composite manhole frame and cover assemblies can pass a 50,000-lb proof load test (per AASHTO M-306, H-25), yet weigh only one-third as much as comparable models. The lightweight yet sturdy design reduces the risk for injuries during installation and when removing the manhole cover. Composite construction is a great solution for manholes where H2S (Hydrogen Sulfide) gas can deteriorate traditional cast iron manhole covers.
The EPDM seal prevents infiltration through the bolt holes to prevent any outside moisture from entering. Four stainless steel bolts compress the lid to the seal. Studs on the underside of the lid let you attach flow monitoring and leak detection devices. The cover is transparent to cellular and radio signals—allows easy transmission of collected flow data from your monitoring devices.
Frame installation slots provide easy anchoring to the manhole casting. Bolt-down lids have four stainless steel socket-head cap screws. Lid features four alignment tabs to position the lid correctly. All lids have a stainless steel pick bar for quick removal.
