Clarkson KGD slurry knife gate valves are packingless—all the sealing is accomplished by natural rubber sleeves in the valve housing. A self-adjusting secondary EPDM seal prevents atmospheric leakage between the gate and the top of the valve body.
Matching sleeves placed in the valve housing seal against the gate when the valve is closed, creating a bubble-tight shut-off and 100% isolation. When the gate is open, the sleeves seal against each other. This protects metal parts from the liquid/slurry and provides an unobstructed port, minimizing pressure drop across the valve.
Valves are easy to install and maintain. Face and seal profile can be used in most pipe style and mating flange configurations without gaskets. Gate is removable for inspection or replacement while in service. Open/closed lockout brackets are ready for your lockout pins.
