They feature the same footprint and sensor compatibility as digital SC200 controllers, but add a modern touchscreen interface and significant expansion capabilities. Each controller can connect with one or two Hach digital sensors (this model accepts one digital sensor). The SC4500 uses round universal connectors, a familiar carryover from previous generation Hach controllers. Alternatively, you can connect one or two external analog signals (0/4-20 mA) in place of Hach sensors to integrate any sensor brand and parameter. Upgrade analog input at any time by purchasing plug-in modules. Note: A maximum of two input sensors (Hach digital sensor and analog modules) can be measured at a time per controller.

Controllers feature two standard on-board SPDT relays to trigger external devices, such as alarms and pumps. They're user-configurable for simple alarming action, or more complicated PID controlling. Controllers also feature five 0/4-20 mA outputs, each freely user-configurable. Outputs are contained to a single replaceable module card.
