Description

Product Details
  • Simple operation and minimal maintenance required—no moving parts
  • Automatic temperature compensation with separate displayed reading and dedicated analog output signal
  • Holds calibration up to 60 days between reagent changes

The Orion 2120XP analyzer is ideal for measuring, monitoring and controlling critical calcium hardness levels in water purification applications. Whether you're monitoring feed water breakthrough, boiler tube scaling, industrial softener effluent or municipal drinking water quality, the 2120XP analyzer provides accurate calcium measurements and instantaneous concentration change notifications.

The analyzer is premounted on a complete panel assembly housed in a waterproof NEMA 4X/IP66 enclosure. An intuitive backlit LCD display continuously shows millivolt values, calcium ion concentration in ppb or ppm (autoranging) and temperature. Optional expansion modules let you expand measuring capability for maximum flexibility; contact USABlueBook Technical Support with your application.

Analyzer setup is easy: just connect a dedicated water sample line to the 1/4" NPT inlet. The water sample passes through a flow cell containing long-life reference and ion selective electrodes (ISE) as well as a temperature compensating probe. Formic acid reagent is added to the loop to stabilize pH and ensure proper sample conditioning and accuracy, especially at the lowest calcium levels. After analysis, water exits through a 3/4" NPT drain connection. Three programmable relay alarm outputs and two scalable analog outputs let you send data to external devices like data loggers, PLCs and other interfaced instrumentation.

Calibration is easy! The intuitive, password-protected user interface features a scrolling marquee display to view setup instructions and error messages. Recall detailed calibration, measurement and diagnostic logs—including up to twelve previous calibrations. Set prompts to alert you when it's time to recalibrate. Monthly DKA (Double Known Addition) calibration is quick and accurate: simply inject two known standards into the sample flow cell using a pipette. For easy one-point calibration, take a line sample and test in the laboratory.

Analyzer requires formic acid reagent (stock # 22134) and a calibration standards kit (stock # 22172). The 60-day supply of reagent includes diffusion tubing and O-rings. The calibration standards kit includes pipettes, calcium standards, inlet filter, bottles and a carrying case.

We also recommend the Annual Consumables Kit to keep your analyzer running its best (see stock #s 22174 and 22173 for details).

For a complete system, order the following components: Hardness Analyzer (22171), Formic Acid Reagent (22134) and Calibration Standards Kit (22172). Hardness Analyzer dimensions are 26" x 17" x 11".

Tech Specs:
  • Range: Ion measurement 25 ppb to 500 ppm; mV measurement ±1999.9 mV; Temp measurement 14 to 248°F
  • Accuracy: Ion measurement ±10% or 10 ppb‚ whichever is greater; mV measurement ±(0.5 mV + 0.1%); Temp measurement ±0.9°F/±0.5°C
  • Resolution: Ion measurement 2, 3 or 4 digits; mV measurement 0.1 mV; Temp measurement 0.1°F or C
  • Temp compensation: automatic with continuous reading
  • Proper sample inlet conditions: 8 to 100 psig, 40 mL/min flow rate, <250 ppm CaCO3 total alkalinity
  • Display: backlit LCD with scrolling marquee, 8 pushbuttons
  • Analog outputs: (2) isolated 0-20 or 4-20 mA, for calcium and temperature
  • Relay outputs: (3) SPST rated 5A @ 250 VAC (5A @ 30 VDC) for alarming
  • Power: 115/240 VAC, 50/60 Hz
