Description

Product Details
  • Save money—50-mL sample size means less reagent used
  • Compact 10-position manifold heater block takes less than 2 sq ft of bench space
  • Heating block turns off automatically when reaction time is completed

The MIDI-VAP 4000 system lets you run up to 10 tests at a time for ammonia and phenol levels in water and wastewater. This system is compact enough to fit under a fume hood on a lab bench, and automated enough so you can walk away during operation. Systems only require 50 mL of sample, which means cost savings to you and less reagent waste for disposal.

The system features a Watlow digital temperature controller with a 165°C pre-programmed heating cycle for precise, repeatable testing. Controller can be manually adjusted up to 190°C, and is thermostatically controlled to avoid overheating. It only takes three steps to get the controller up and running. The LED display helps with programming, and includes an amber light that indicates when heating is in progress. Needle valves let you control the vacuum at each position. The system shuts off automatically when the reaction time is completed.

The 10-position insulated heating block requires minimal lab bench space. A PTFE-coated case, PTFE gasket and isolated wiring protects the heating block against spills and corrosives.

Includes: 10 sets of glassware (reaction tube with draft shield, distilling head, cold finger condenser, short stem outlet tube for phenol, long stem outlet tube for ammonia, high-temperature cap, silicone sealing ring, and PTFE-faced septa) and pre-cut tubing with quick-disconnect fittings to help you get started faster.

Note: This system can also operate at a 126°C pre-programmed heating cycle for cyanide distillation. Cyanide glassware is available as special order; contact USABlueBook for more information.
