Mazzei injectors are the answer for increasing DO levels for water treatment in situations where the use of conventional blower/diffuser aeration would be inefficient‚ impractical or very expensive. Typical applications where injectors are being used for aeration include ponds or lagoons that are too shallow for surface aerators‚ STP effluent streams needing a boost in DO and ammonia and H2S stripping.  In STP operations‚ injector aeration is highly effective when water height is less than 5’ deep. Conventional diffusers are generally mounted a foot off the floor to provide proper water circulation. This leaves only 4’ of water column for water/air contact‚ which reduces the amount of time available for efficient oxygen transfer even when using fine bubble diffusers.   When using Mazzei injectors in conjunction with a water pump or gravity system with adequate pressure capability‚ air can be infused into the water at any depth‚ shallow or deep‚ as long as a minimum 20% pressure differential is maintained between the injector’s inlet and outlet ports. Injector performance improves as pressure differential increases.  We have assembled pre-made Mazzei packages of popular sizes. These packages include submersible sewage pumps for use in lagoons or basins. An air line will need to be piped from the injector port of the Mazzei to the surface of the water.
