ALTO II lamps go one step further - they have only half the mercury content of ALTO lamps. ALTO lamps are available with or without a TuffGuard protective coating.  The TuffGuard coating acts as a protective barrier. In case of a break‚ the glass fragments are contained inside of the lamp. Coating is clean and non-stick.  The state of California requires the use of lower-watt lamps to save energy. These bulbs conform to those requirements.
