Thermo Scientific Orion™ 7070iX Total Residual Oxidant (TRO) Analyzer
Description
- Detects at levels as low as 1 part per billion (ppb)
- Superior to DPD measurement—no interference from turbidity or sample color variances
- Operates maintenance-free for up to 6 months
The Thermo Scientific Orion™ 7070iX TRO Analyzer uses iodometric technology to measure low levels of total residual oxidants in process water, cooling water or wastewater. To help you meet NPDES permit requirements, it provides continuous online measurement of most common oxidants—including chlorine (dechlorination), bromine, chlorine dioxide and chloramines. The ion selective electrode (ISE)-based technology meets the EPA 9770 ISE method. It is unaffected by turbidity and other interferences, allowing for extremely long service and calibration intervals.
All components are housed in a wall-mount fiberglass enclosure. Installation is simple—just connect the inlet and drain sample lines, power source and reagent container. During operation, the analyzer responds to changes in oxidant concentration in as little as 30 seconds, and detects residual oxidants in real time. The integral controller with full-color graphic display provides all operator interfacing, basic datalogging and output signals. It also features three programmable relays and two analog outputs.
Four user-selectable operating modes provide unique features, including selective measurements for only when you need it as well as producing significant reagent savings. In any mode, if the analyzer detects that a sample is not present, it will stop operation and halt reagent usage.
• Continuous mode provides constant readings updated every two seconds.
• Interval mode runs for user-defined intervals (from 5 to 30 minutes), displaying last measurement.
• Remote mode activates the digital input, which lets you use your own external switch to start and stop measurement. While "on," the display updates every two seconds.
• Scheduled mode turns on and off automatically at user-defined times.
The analyzer's measurement cell features an autocleaning function and runs without maintenance for up to six months. Monthly calibration is recommended, with drift of <5% observed over periods up to six months between calibrations. Recommended maintenance intervals include internal tubing replacement three months using the tubing kit (stock # 37125) as well as cleaning the optic sensor and replacing the ISE electrode (stock # 37128) annually. Reagents provide 80 hours of continuous use; replacement interval varies depending on mode of operation (60 days typical when not in continuous mode).
Analyzer includes: sample inlet Y-strainer. For a complete system, order reagents (stock # 37124) and calibration standard kit (stock # 37126) separately.
- Range: 0.001 to 15 ppm (as TRO, TRC, TC)
- Accuracy: <5% of reading or 10 ppb (whichever is greater)
- Measurement interval: =30 seconds
- Sample flow rate: 40 mL/min (set by internal pressure regulator)
- Outputs: (2) analog isolated 0/4-20 mA; (3) SPDT relays rated 1A @ 250 VAC
