Prevent bacteria, mold and various microorganisms from contaminating your tanks. This lowmaintenanc Tank Master uses ultraviolet germicidal exposure for disinfection, bypassing the need for heat or additional chemicals. It not only disinfects the contents of the tank, but also the airspace and surfaces above them.
The system consists of an ultraviolet lamp enclosed in a quartz sleeve, sealed to a static gland fitting. It's powered by the remote ballast via the 3-ft cable. This flexible design allows the UV lamp to be mounted horizontally in the storage tank (submerged) or vertically suspended from the top of the tank (partially submerged). Horizontal installation not recommended for this unit.
Insertion depth is the distance the lamp will extend from the top or sidewall into the tank. UV lamps have an effective 3-ft radius in any direction. For tanks larger than 5 feet in diameter, we recommend the 2-lamp configuration. Contact USABlueBook for assistance with sizing.
The Tank Master static gland fitting requires a 1" (F)NPT fitting to mount to the storage tank. If an appropriate fitting is not available on your tank, an optional 1" NPT bulkhead fitting (stock # 42014) is available. The optional surface-mount bracket kit (stock # 350886) enables installation along the top of a tank or onto any flat surface. This is ideal for applications requiring a quartz sleeve (high-moisture, cold applications, wash-down environments, etc.).
Note: Ultraviolet disinfection is based on the transmittance of UV light and its absorbance by the organisms. It is recommended that the incoming water be filtered to ensure clarity. We highly recommend that you contact your local permit-monitoring agency prior to purchasing a UV system. UV disinfection is not an approved disinfection method in some areas.
