These assays rapidly screen for specific microbes or groups of microbes so you can proactively detect and respond to changes in your system's health. Used with the GeneCount Q-16 qPCR device, these highly sensitive assays detect even low levels of the targeted organism and quantify its entire population in just two hours.
Illustrated instructions walk you through the two parts of the test method: DNA purification and DNA amplification. With qPCR assays, there's no need to grow microbes on media for detection, eliminating the hassle of culture plate sterilization and disposal. Even organisms that are stressed or hard to grow are quantified.
Assays target specific genes in a particular microorganism. Each primer is designed to amplify this target, and is meticulously selected using the most up-to-date reference databases. Kit includes: (12) lyophilized qPCR reagents in 4-well strips, (12) positive control DNA tubes, (12) nuclease-free water tubes, and (96) 100-µL filtered pipet tips.
For a complete system, order this assay along with a GeneCount LT DNA Purification Kit (93084) and GeneCount Q-16 qPCR Device. Note: Assays are also compatible with many standard DNA purification methods and 4+ channel qPCR instruments.
