Pulsar's Sludge Finder 2 is a two-component system (controller and sensor) that provides reliable continuous sludge blanket level measurement. It's ideal for solids settling applications, including primary and secondary clarifiers, settlement tanks, process thickeners and sequencing batch reactor (SBR) systems.
Viper VT10 IP68-rated sensors emit high-frequency ultrasonic pulses at a narrow 6° beam angle path through the liquid. When the pulses encounter denser material, they reflect back to the sensor. The controller (not included) analyzes this return echo to provide a depth reading and analog output. Sensor's integrated wiper blade automatically sweeps the transducer face at user-programmed intervals, which saves maintenance and inspection time, and avoids unhygienic manual cleaning. Maximum measurement level range is 32.8 feet.
Sensors are mounted perpendicular to, and just below the liquid level surface. They should also be positioned away from the tank's sidewall and not directly over bottom rake sweeps. They feature cables that can be field-extended for positioning up to 656 feet from the controller.
For a complete system, also order Sludge Finder 2 controller (stock #s 84812 or 84813); sensor mounting hardware is also strongly recommended for proper sensor orientation. Additional sensors are available, including sensors with hazardous area approvals. Contact us for details.
