Lightweight and portable—unit with sensor weighs less than 4 lbs
•
Audible and visual indicators make operation straightforward
•
Storage reel for easy cable management and simple, sanitary operation
Use the economical SludgeWatch 715 sludge blanket detector to spot check sludge interface levels in settling tanks. It works by measuring the change in the level of suspended solids as the sensor is lowered into a tank.
When the sensor reaches the sludge blanket, an audible signal changes from a fast beeping to slow beeping tone and a red LED provides a visual indication. Rugged sensor cable markings (in one-foot intervals from the sensor) allow you to measure the sludge interface position.
The sludge detector consists of a cable reel and an IP68-rated PVC IR sensor with your choice of four measurement ranges. The cable reel contains all electronics and a replaceable 9V battery, and stores the 33-ft sensor cable when not in use.
Full digital display reads actual sludge level—no more level estimations based on cable markers!
•
Field rugged and weather resistant
Quickly and accurately determine the sludge blanket solid/liquid interface depth in primary tanks, clarifiers, sedimentation basins or other sludge settling tanks. As you raise and lower the probe to the tank bottom, the cable travels over a counter roller, counting the distance traveled in inches. A light and horn signal when you’re at the top of the sludge blanket, and a precise readout of sludge level is displayed.
The unit uses the latest IRED light dispersion technology. The brilliant display provides visibility in direct sunlight and darkness. The audible tone allows sight-free monitoring, or disable it for silent operation. Additional features include sensitivity adjustment and a low-battery indicator.
Portable, lightweight and rugged, the Raven sludge interface detector is ideal for operators wanting simple, quick and reliable sludge level measurements. The unit is powered by three AAA batteries. Dimensions are 12"L x 6"W x 6"H. Select from 20-ft or 30-ft cable lengths.
Includes: cable and sensor, instructions and three AAA batteries. 1-year warranty.
Repeatable—rail-mounted base stations ensure accuracy
Take accurate measurements of sludge blanket solid/liquid interface depth in key locations around the plant. This portable detector features a rotary drum that lets you deploy and retrieve the cable-mounted sensor without touching any wet surfaces. The durable, 4-point aluminum roll cage includes a backlit digital display.
The stainless steel sensor features infrared optics that detect changes in sludge density for repeatable, accurate results. With routine cleaning and limited maintenance, the sensor has an indefinite lifespan. The cable is undersea-rated with minimal bend memory for long-lasting performance.
Base stations (sold separately) are critical to keep the detector stable for consistent sludge measurements. Use the included hardware to mount the base station to a railing. Hardware features quick-release claws for fast installation and removal.
Includes: cable and sensor, instructions and three AAA batteries. Order base station(s) separately.
Note: Choose the base station (required accessory) that matches the shape of the railing in your application.

Sludge Interface Detector with Sensor & 30'L Cable
Lock the detector to a rail using a base station, and lower the sensor into the clarifier. When it touches the bottom, an LED sensor lights and audible tone sounds. Using the rotary drum, reel in the sensor until the LED and tone turn off, then engage the brake. The distance the sensor traveled in inches appears on the display, and represents the height of the settled sludge blanket.

Partech 750w2 Portable Suspended Solids & Water Quality Meters
•
Measure suspended solids and dissolved oxygen with a single device
•
Multiple interchangeable sensors
•
Sunlight-readable display with backlight for use in lower light levels
Measure TSS, turbidity, dissolved oxygen and sludge level with a single unit. This innovative water quality meter features high accuracy, a simple-to-use interface and interchangeable sensors (sold separately below). Use to test parameters in wastewater plants, rivers, lakes and other aqueous systems—the robust IP65-rated meter housing and military-grade cable connectors make this unit tough enough for rugged field applications.
The 750w2 meter records and stores a minimum of 500 data points per sensor. Rechargeable battery pack provides a typical lifespan of one week (200+ uses) between charges. Each meter includes a battery charger, clear protective meter sleeve and a carrying/storage bag with room for up to two sensors.
Multiple interchangeable sensor options
For a complete system, order a 750w2 meter and the OxyTechw2 RDO sensor and/or SoliTechw2 IR suspended solids sensor. Sensors are easily swapped out via the IP68-rated input connector.
SoliTechw2 IR sensors measure suspended solids or turbidity/sludge density. Choose from multiple ranges to maximize accuracy over a wide range of applications. The two-prong 960 nm light sensor features a rugged acetal copolymer body that withstands tough conditions found in clarifiers, thickeners and wastewater tanks. Calibration values are stored in memory, so daily recalibration is not required—simply clean the sensor after use. Monthly calibration is sufficient for proper operation. Measure in units of mg/L, g/L %, NTU, FTU, FNU, or FAU.
OxyTechw2 RDO sensors use optical DO technology, making them accurate, reliable and EPA-approved. These RDO luminescence-quenching sensors do not consume oxygen or require water movement for accurate measurements. The only probe maintenance required is a simple cap replacement approximately every two years.
